Vivekananda Rock Memorial of Kanyakumari is located approximately 500 meters offshore from the mainland of Kanyakumari tourism. It is said that Saint Vivekananda himself meditated in this rock for 2 days, this the rock memorial wan build to honor Swami Vivekanadna on the rock by the efforts of Ramakrishna mission.
Vivekananda Rock Memorial is built in the year 1970 and the architecture is merger of so many styles of cultures. The only transport facility to reach Vivekananda rock memorial is by boat which is provided by Vivekananda Kendra itself.
The rock memorial consists of two most important places one is ‘Shripada Mandapam’ and the other one is ‘Vivekananda Mandapam’. Inside thses two sections of Mandapams there are many subsections of all that the meditation hall or Dhyana Mandapam located in Vivekananda Mandapam is very spiritual. Eveny single traveler visit this place go to the meditation hall to meditate. The view of the surrounding is very panoramic as only you can see the water it’s a wonderful view from inside out.
